South Africa is the prime destination for co-location services, as more than 80% of the voice traffic generated in the SADC region goes through the country. Co-location Solutions houses the NewTelco SA brand which offers carrier neutral co-location services with a broad range of local, regional and global interconnectivity, and reliable, consistently high quality of service.

Co-location Solutions was established in 2010 in partnership with NewTelco GmbH, a German company that is a leader in this arena with more than five neutral carrier co-location hubs in major world capitals, such as Frankfurt, London, New York, Vienna and Kiev. We provide a transparent connection to international destinations and offers carriers a fast, cost efficient, carrier grade, reliable point of presence (PoP) in South Africa to switch customer traffic seamlessly and inexpensively in the region.

Our state-of-the-art co-location data centre, located in Midrand in Gauteng, provides next generation enterprise Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) solutions to enable connections between local and international operators at cost-effective pricing.

The centre works on two models, the first selling cabinet space for operators that wish to locate their own equipment in the centre where all operators terminate. The second option is rental of in-house equipment on a per port basis to take advantage of existing transmission switches and assist operators in pushing down the cost of providing their service. Interconnections are unrestricted and incoming carriers are not compelled to make these interconnects via secondary, usually expensive, hubs. In addition, as a licensed operator, New Telco SA is able to provision and supply carrier links across South Africa

Leveraging the opportunities provided by recent deregulation of telecoms in South Africa, as well as the massive investments into landing undersea cables and improving infrastructure, we aim to become the leading telecoms interconnection hub in the sub-Saharan region.
